Homemade Cranberry Sauce
For any holiday meal, Homemade Cranberry Sauce is a necessity. Simple to make and bursting with flavor of fresh cranberries, Homemade Cranberry Sauce will make your meal delicious.
Homemade Cranberry Sauce 4 cups fresh cranberries 1 cup sugar 1 cup water Optional: orange zest to taste; cinnamon, nutmeg or allspice to taste; 1 cup frozen blueberries;1 cup raisins
In a saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Add the cranberries and return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until cranberries begin to burst (about 10 minutes). If desired, add your optional ingredients. Remove from heat and cool at room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator. The cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.
